Announcing Color Cloud’s New Production Partnership
One thing that has always made Color Cloud Hammocks different from the rest is our belief that hammocks should be crafted with care by hands that receive fair wages for their work.
Now in its fifth year, Color Cloud is growing! We’re excited to announce that Color Cloud Hammocks has launched a partnership for production of our hammocks with a mid-size, family-owned textile company in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Employing more than 400 people, primarily women, the company hopes to become a leading textile company in Ethiopia.
This new partnership allows Color Cloud to produce larger quantities of high quality products while remaining committed to contributing to the employment and economic development of a team of skilled tailors. “We are pleased to partner with a company committed to providing fair wages to its employees to promote and ensure their quality of life,” says Laura Davis, Color Cloud co-founder and leader of the hammock company’s Ethiopian expansion.
We captured some photos to give you a peek into the sewing facility during the production of our new 2016 Ethiopian-Made Collection. Check these out an be sure to get one of our new fairly-fashioned Color Cloud Hammocks available in the shop today!
